Oil and Gas Mining Legal and Regulatory Work - U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Currently working with USAID to commence review of draft regulations and laws essential to the reliable and transparent provision of energy services as well as to encourage sustained private investment in Indonesia. In this assistance, we encourage a regulatory regime that utilizes licensing, concessions and proper tax incentives, while enforcing required environmental standards.

Energy Policy Analysis Assistance to the Minister of Mines and Energy - U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). In 1999, AEAI established offices in Jakarta and is currently providing technical assistance to the Minister of Mines and Energy to establish an Energy Policy Analysis Team within the Ministry to address high-level policy issues in the energy sector. The focus of technical assistance is the provision of diagnostic and analytical reviews of existing and needed energy sector policies in the areas identified. Policy analyses and recommendations for an evolving policy framework are provided through reports and closely held workshops that allow the Ministry of Mines and Energy to make better informed decisions in the rapidly changing Indonesian energy sector.
